The act of counterfeiting the goods and their non-conformity with the standards. Also, it refers to cheating, or attempting to deceive one of the other contracting parties in the quantity, type, essential characteristics or identity of goods, or in any other matter related to the goods, or providing false or incorrect commercial data of goods

    • Brand/ Trademark Owners

  • Required Documents

    • A valid copy of the trademark or commercial agency certificate issued by the Ministry of Economy.
    • Certified power of attorney in case someone other than the owner submits the complaint.
    • Original and counterfeit samples for examination only and to be returned to the complainant immediately after the examination when the complaint was registered, or a report showing the similarities between the original and counterfeit samples.

  • Fees

    AED 2000 for one brand, one site, in addition to AED 500 for each other site.

  • Service Requirements

    • Visit SEDD website www.sedd.ae.
    • Select Consumer Protection and then choose Commercial Fraud Complaint.
    • Add complaint data and then the attachments.
    • Fill in the verification code you have received.
    • After adding the verification code, you will receive complaint reference number.
    • The complaint and attachments will be examined.
    • Send payment voucher.
    • After receiving the receipt, an appointment will be set for the visit.
